LEED Silver Certified correctional center commissioning project.
Colliers Project Leaders was engaged by The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) to provide independent commissioning services for the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems associated with the Western Massachusetts Women’s Correctional Center Project. This project consisted of additions to the existing prison. The main addition provided 64 cells to accommodate 124 inmates. In addition to the new building, the existing facility included some enhancements with the expansion of the intake area and a new multipurpose room. The goal for this project was to reduce the environmental impact of the Correctional Center. This project received LEED Silver Certification.
In our role as commissioning agent, we provided commissioning services in accordance with LEED EA Prerequisite 1, Fundamental Commissioning and EA Credit 3, Enhanced Commissioning services. Colliers Project Leaders developed and coordinated the execution of a testing plan which included observing and documenting performance of all commissioned systems to ensure they were functioning in accordance with the Owner’s objectives and contract documents.
