Library, dormitory, & campus wide upgrades.

Regis College engaged Colliers Project Leaders to provide owner’s project management (OPM) services in connection with the campus infrastructure upgrade, existing library renovation and dormitory addition to the main campus located in Weston, MA.

Regis is a leading Catholic university in Greater Boston with 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in the arts, sciences and health professions devoted to engagement, service and advancement in a global community.

While the campus has served generations of students, faculty and staff over the decades, relatively little has been done to the campus’ infrastructure and pedestrian flow which is now in need of crucial repair and reconfiguration. Furthermore, the campus was in need of additional dormitory space as enrollment has increased over the years.

The renovations included a 72-bed suite-style, four-story dormitory addition that expanded Maria Hall by 31,000 square feet. The upgrades featured enhanced fire protection to Angela, Domitilla, and Maria Halls (its three main dormitories), as well as campus-wide utility improvements to the water and electrical services. A new quad and walkway provides improved security features and lighting, converts the existing focal point of the campus into a green space, and connects the quadrangle, athletic and science centers, and Spellman Museum. The new library entrance faces the campus quad and houses a Dunkin’ Donuts kiosk. The project began pre-construction in Spring 2013 and was completed in Fall 2015, ready for the start of the academic year.

As the overall development manager and project manager for the project, Colliers provided the following services: team assembly; permitting; general advisory assistance; design & preconstruction services; bidding, buyout, and GMP negotiation; construction management; and start-up and close-out services.
