State-of-the-art nursing program center for caring.

Colliers Project Leaders was engaged to provide commissioning services for the MEP installations for the Notre Dame of Maryland University’s New Academic Center.

The new academic building is a 32,000 square foot facility that houses the Center for Caring and Technology and includes three state-of-the-art learning labs to support undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The obstetrics/pediatrics simulation lab includes interactive mannequins of a baby, a small child and even a mother giving birth, which display symptoms and respond realistically to students’ actions. The rich, life-like learning environment enables students to practice nursing assessments and interventions, and strengthen their clinical reasoning skills before beginning clinical work in area hospitals.

As the commissioning agent, we were responsible for updating and maintaining the commissioning issues log, developing HVAC system functional performance test procedures, and conducting functional performance testing.
