A focus on health and wellness at the Hackley School.
Colliers Project Leaders provided project management services for the new Walter C. Johnson Center for Health and Wellness at the Hackley School. The center is the new home for physical education, athletics, and the school’s growing wellness programs. The new building is central to the school’s wellness initiatives, expanding beyond traditional physical education and athletics programs to include yoga, nutrition education, and meditation practices.
Nestled in the school’s wooded and rocky terrain campus, the Johnson Center provides an expansive program including an eight-lane, 25-yard pool, eight-court squash center, varsity basketball gym, multi-purpose large gym, indoor jogging track, fitness center, weight training center, and competition venues for wrestling and fencing. Additional support areas such as team and visiting locker rooms, training rooms, coaches’ offices as well as multi-purpose rooms and classrooms provide ample space to serve both competitive sports as well as recreation and wellness education for the entire school community.
The new Health and Wellness Center was awarded LEED Gold Certification. As project manager, Colliers Project Leaders provided comprehensive project management services. In this capacity, Colliers Project Leaders was directly responsible for the project planning, budgeting, design/construction oversight, move coordination, and closeout of the project.
