New elementary school approaching Net Zero performance.
Colliers Project Leaders provided full project management services for the construction of a new PreK–5 elementary school designed to support special education, STEAM, and other academic programs. This project is part of the district-wide renewal initiative to replace aging facilities and consolidate operations into new and renovated schools across the Town.
Aligned with the Town’s commitment to sustainability, the school incorporates a range of energy-efficient features, including roof-mounted solar panels, ground-source geothermal wells with heat pumps, and the elimination of fossil fuels. The building is designed to approach Net-Zero performance, with a targeted Energy Use Intensity of less than 25.
As project manager, our responsibilities through the pre-design, design, construction, and closeout, training and FF&E phases included but were not limited to:
- Develop budget and project schedules
- Design document review
- Manage the Office of School Construction Grants and Review process
- Coordinate State reimbursement
- Oversee construction activities and on-site consultants
- Review contractor change orders
- Coordinate training for operating staff and project closeout
