Teen center renovation with a homework space, technology room, music studio, and multi-purpose room.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s Mattapan Teen Center provides members, ages 6-18, after-school programming that builds educational and character development.
The project involved the complete renovation and repurposing of the former Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library. The BGCB acquired the site for a nominal fee and engaged Colliers Project Leaders for Owner’s Project Management services. The interior reconfiguration and renovation created a homework space, technology room, music studio, and a multi-purpose room that can be used for performances, fitness activities, and other uses.
The renovation was notable for the commitment to hiring minority and women owned businesses (M/WBE) for over eighty percent of the work on the job.
