Emergency room and medical center project completed on time and on budget.
Colliers Project Leaders was retained to provide project management services for construction of the Joseph C. Corkery, MD, Emergency Department at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. The project consisted of a new 90,000 SF structure that was constructed below two floors of occupied patient rooms on the side of a hill. Nicknamed “The Stilts” project by the team, the new facility included a new, 41,000 SF emergency department and a core and shell space for a future cancer center placed around the column structure of the existing hospital above it.
The project completed on time and on budget with Lahey now having a new Emergency Center that features:
- 26 private exam/treatment and observation rooms
- 2 additional trauma bays with passageways between all 4 rooms for more efficient treatment
- A triage/fast-track area
- 3 private behavioral health exam rooms
- Enhanced infection and contamination/prevention area
