Commissioning a LEED Gold Certified science complex.
Colliers Project Leaders provided commissioning services for the 80,000 square foot Rector Science Complex, a sustainable, “green” science teaching and research laboratory facility which earned LEED Gold Certification.
The first phase of the project included the construction of an 80,000 square foot facility located adjacent to the Tome Scientific Building. The new science facility houses Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, and has spaces including a new main lobby for the science complex, an 80-seat lecture hall, classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, office space, an animal laboratory facility, and a greenhouse.
Colliers provided commissioning services and was directly responsible for multiple reviews of the design documentation, the development of commissioning specifications, construction checklists and performance test procedures, reviews of project submittals and verification of construction installations, and performance/oversight of the functional performance testing process.
In addition, we performed near-end warranty reviews and developed a comprehensive re-commissioning manual (systems manual). We were responsible for producing all of the related LEED documentation to achieve the Commissioning Prerequisite 1 and the Additional Commissioning credit point.
