E-commerce in Canada has thrived during the past few years. As reliance on shipping and delivery services continues to grow, so do Canadian postal service demands. To accommodate increases in volume, Canada Post decided to open a new 45,000 sq. ft. delivery centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Prioritizing customer service and delivery efficiency, the corporation leased a six-acre greenfield site owned by the Regina Airport Authority.

Incorporating Canada’s Post’s custom design standard, the new facility shares the same look, layout and build quality as other Canada Post delivery centres across the country. It includes:

  • 40,000 sq. ft. dedicated to package sorting and delivery operations
  • 5,000 sq. ft. dedicated to office space and staff support services
  • a large outdoor parking lot
  • two dock bays built at a height able to accommodate up to 53 ft.
  • two additional docking bays to receive lower-height mail trucks

The design also complies with the airport authority’s zoning regulations, such as building height and outdoor lighting restrictions.

Canada Post engaged our team to provide project, construction and move management services for the new facility. Having worked with our teams on multiple projects over the years – including delivery centers in downtown Toronto and Vaughan, the Pacific mail processing plant in B.C., and the East mail processing plant in greater Toronto – Canada Post knew we had the expertise to deliver the project successfully from concept to closeout.

Construction of the new delivery centre was completed in October 2019, and the facility is now offering delivery services to Regina and its surrounding communities.
