Commissioning of 11 east coast ambulatory care center projects
Colliers Project Leaders was engaged by Hardaway | Sziabowski Architects to provide commissioning services for the HVAC systems for multiple ambulatory care centers. Typically, these clinics occupy 10,000 to 15,000 square feet and include three to six operating rooms, pre- and post-operative holding areas, consultation/exam rooms, administrative offices, a conference room, and a waiting/reception area.
We also provided commissioning services for the following Ambulatory Surgery Centers on behalf of Hardaway | Sziabowski Architects:
- West Suburban Eye Surgery Center
- Surgery Center on the Main Line
- Surgery Center of Allentown
- Raritan Valley Surgery Center
- Essex Specialized Surgical Institute
- Eastern Massachusetts Surgery Center
- Blue Bell Ambulatory Surgery Center
- Bronx Surgery Center
- Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center
- Surgisite Boston North
- Island Eye Surgery Center
As commissioning agent, our team implemented a systematic process designed to verify that the HVAC and related systems function properly to meet the Owner’s requirements. This is achieved by applying quality control principles to all aspects of the HVAC systems, including inspection and testing of the air handling units, boilers, VAV boxes, exhaust fans, steam generators, and humidifiers. Given the sensitive nature of work being conducted in the building, properly functioning heating and cooling systems and space pressure relationships are critical. We also provided check & balancing services, verified proper space pressurization of operating and procedure rooms, and tested emergency inspection modes of operation.
