Reinvigorating Educational Spaces while Honoring Historic Architecture
Colliers Project Leaders provided project management and commissioning services for the 60 Main Street Historic Renovation & Addition Project at Miss Porter’s School. The project received the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut (AGC/CT) Build Connecticut Award for Mid-Size Renovations, at the 2024 Build CT awards dinner. The Build CT awards program recognizes excellence in completed construction projects.
The project relocated a historic staircase in the original building to widen the corridor from the main entrance to the dining hall. The dining hall was renovated and expanded. The existing kitchen and servery additions were removed and rebuilt. The servery doubled in size and features a new exhibition-style design with cuisine made to order. The building’s expansion also added a new lower lounge and a covered colonnade porch. The lounge doubles as an art gallery and lobby.
Colliers Project Leaders served as project manager for the feasibility/pre-design, due diligence, design, contractor selection, bidding, construction, FF&E, and closeout phases of the project.
